2 pedestrians killed on I-20 after being hit by cars

More deadly pedestrian accidents in the news, last night around 6:30 p.m. a man died trying to cross I-20 west and hours later around midnight another man was hit and killed on I-20 at Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. It’s been less than a week and four people walking on area highways have been hit by cars, three of them have died. Sergeant John Chafee advises people to never walk on interstates.

12-year-old girl shot while inside College Park home

A 12-year-old girl shot while she was sleeping inside of her College Park home is expected to be okay. Her mother called police last night to say that someone opened fire on their home on Connell Rd. off of Flat Shoals Rd. There are no suspects at this time. Residence say they are fearful because of the increased violence last week in that same area, police responded to three shootings and a firebombing.
Analysis: White voters outpaced black voters in Atlanta mayors race

Early analysis of last weeks Atlanta’s mayoral race found that white voters outnumbered black voters. An analysis by veteran Democratic analyst Chris Huttman found that 49% of the votes cast were from whites 46% blacks and his information did not include that part of Atlanta in DeKalb county that is majority white. The top two candidates Keisha Lance Bottoms and Mary Norwood will face a run-off next month on December 5 and this race is gaining national attention because of the possibility that Atlanta could elect its first white mayor in 44 years.
