I had the honor of interviewing Micheal Vick the night before his first game against the Atlanta Falcons since he was released from prison last year.
It is amazing how many will hold your past against you and hope for the worst for you, but when you start to pray over your life and connect with God about it, things change for you and here is evidence.
Micheal Vick literally spoke over his life what was to come. I just want to remind you that prayer is the key to the Kingdom and Faith unlocks the door. Vick completed 20 of 28 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 80 yards and two scores on just eight carries as the Eagles trounced the Washington Football Team 59-28 last Monday night.
Spin: Vick became the first player in NFL history to throw for 300 yards, run for 50, throw for four touchdowns and run for two touchdowns in the same game. Even more amazing, he did all his damage save for 10 yards of passing in the first three quarters. He completed long bombs, precision passes and magician-like flips and screens, while making all the right reads and doing tremendous damage on the ground.
He had a perfect passer rating and a whopping 11.9 yards per attempt passing and 10.0 yards per attempt rushing and was nothing short of breathtaking. All of that said, the only apparent downside of Vick 2.0 (who still has yet to lose a fumble or throw an interception this season) was also on display as he took a couple of nasty hits and came up wincing. It seems only injuries suffered due to his style can slow down his reinvention tour.
