God has called us His friends, but many of us don’t understand how significant this is. Many of us only refer to God as ‘Master’. You are not as open with your boss as you are with your friends. With your close friends, you are transparent. You know that whatever you tell them will is secure and despite how bad it may be, they would never bail on you. You don’t ‘dress up’ or ‘put on airs’ to talk to your friends. You want to talk to your friends whether you’re happy or sad. You typically don’t hide very much from your friends. God is a great friend to us. You may be a great servant to God, but are you a great friend?
John 15:15 NIV – I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
