Loni Love is standing firmly beside her longtime friend Sherri Shepherd after news broke that Shepherd’s daytime talk show Sherri has been canceled. The show, which aired for four seasons in syndication, officially came to an end this week.

Love didn’t hide her disappointment—especially with how the announcement was handled. Taking to social media, the former Real co-host called out production company Debmar-Mercury for releasing a joint statement without allowing Shepherd to speak for herself. Love made it clear that Sherri deserved the respect and space to announce the show’s ending in her own voice, just as other hosts have been given in similar situations.

She also touched on the emotional weight of seeing the word “canceled” attached to your work and image—particularly when the show was performing well in the ratings. Love described the moment as disheartening but made sure to encourage Shepherd, ending on a hopeful note that it’s only onward and upward from here.

A reminder that behind every headline is a human being—and sometimes, how news is delivered matters just as much as the news itself.
