Each year, The King Center in Atlanta leads the nation in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through its official observance of the national holiday commemorating his birth.

Among the Center’s most distinguished holiday experiences is the MLK, Jr. Beloved Community Awards—a signature program that celebrates national and international individuals and organizations whose leadership, commitment to social justice, and service reflect Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Beloved Community Coretta Scott King Woman Soul of the Nation Award: Viola Davis
  • Beloved Community Youth Influencer Award (Organization): LeBron James Family Foundation, accepted by Gloria James, mother of LeBron James
  • Beloved Community Environmental Justice Award: Billie Eilish
  • Beloved Community Youth Influencer Award (Individual): Dr. Dorothy Jean Tillman, Founder and CEO of The Dorothyjeanius STEAM Leadership Institute

Together, these honorees embody excellence, courage, and compassion—proof that Dr. King’s dream is not just remembered, but actively carried forward.
