Atlanta-based rapper Ca$h Out is now facing a prison sentence of 25 to life following his conviction in his sex trafficking trial.

The rapper, whose real name is John Michael Gibson, has been found guilty on multiple charges, including rape, pimping, and aggravated sodomy, following a high-profile trial that exposed a years-long sex trafficking operation. The Fulton County jury also found Gibson guilty on two counts of sex trafficking and RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) charges, though he was acquitted on other counts, including sexual servitude and aggravated assault.

As reported by WSB-TV, the trial, which spanned nearly two months, revealed a disturbing narrative of coercion and exploitation. Prosecutors argued that Gibson, along with his mother, Linda Smith, and cousin Tyrone Taylor, operated a sex trafficking enterprise under the guise of their record label, Pyrez Music Group LLC. The trio used the label to lure young women into prostitution, with some victims testifying they were coerced through violence and manipulation.

Fulton County prosecutor Earnell Winfrey described the operation as a “house of horrors,” emphasizing that the case went beyond traditional pimping due to the use of force and coercion. “This ain’t just straight pimping—this is trafficking,” Winfrey told jurors.

Smith, known as “Mama Ca$h,” was found guilty on one trafficking count but acquitted on another. Taylor faced a harsher outcome, being convicted on all but one count, including rape and aggravated sodomy. All three defendants were found guilty of RICO charges.

The trial featured harrowing testimonies from victims, some of whom recounted being forced into prostitution after being raped. One witness revealed she was only provided food if she performed sex acts for money. Evidence presented in court included text messages and phone calls between Gibson and his co-defendants, as well as payment receipts and property records linking Smith to the operation.

Gibson’s legal troubles began in 2019 when he was arrested during a prostitution sting at a Gwinnett County hotel. His original charges included human trafficking, pandering, and obstruction of law enforcement.

The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m.
