Kierra Sheard-Kelly On New Single, Children’s Book, & Motherhood
Kierra Sheard-Kelly Talks New Single, Children’s Book, & Motherhood
Award-winning gospel artist Kierra Sheard-Kelly is no stranger to wearing many hats. From singer-songwriter to author, actress, and now mother, she continues to inspire audiences with her faith-driven artistry and personal journey. In a recent interview on The Neiko Flow Show, Sheard-Kelly opened up about her latest single, “Rain,” her children’s book, Kiki Finds Her Voice, and the joys and challenges of motherhood.
Sheard-Kelly’s new single, Rain, is a powerful anthem of faith and restoration. “This song is prophetic, if I can be honest,” she shared. “Rain biblically means restoration, revival, and God’s judgment. But the beauty in God’s judgment is accountability—He’s holding you accountable because you know better.” The track, which opens with the poignant declaration, “He’s here now,” reflects her personal prayer time and spiritual battles. “You have to interrupt what Satan is trying to do to you and your family. I declare that it is here now,” she said passionately.
In addition to her music, Sheard-Kelly has ventured into children’s literature with Kiki Finds Her Voice, a story inspired by her own experiences. “That book blessed me,” she said, reflecting on its impact. “Even parents who read it told me, ‘This book blessed me more than it blessed the baby.’” She hopes the story will resonate with young readers and their families, offering encouragement and faith-based lessons.
Motherhood has added a new dimension to Sheard-Kelly’s life and work. “It’s a glory of a weight,” she said, describing the balance of her career, marriage, and being a mom to daughter Khloé-Drew. “I need the Lord to set all of this up for me so I don’t feel guilty when I’m called to do purpose.” She also expressed her desire for more children, despite past health challenges, and her hope for God’s blessings in her family life.
With new music, a heartfelt book, and a fresh approach to her YouTube channel, Sheard-Kelly is embracing her many roles with grace and faith. “It’s all going to work for the good,” she affirmed.
