Lee Vasi Drops Music Video For “Teach Me”

It’s been a year since Christian R&B singer Lee Vasi released her viral hit, “Teach Me.” To celebrate, she released a long-awaited music video for the song.

In what’s been a new lifestyle trend for Christian music, Vasi put her pen to paper to share her heart on a relationship that needed mended from God: “Teach me how to understand this man. I don’t want my pride to ruin what you planned,” the song says. It comes as a beautiful reminder to seek God first – in everything. In “Teach Me,” she sought covering over her covenant, realizing the work and willing to do the work necessary for clarity in her relationship.

Upon first releasing, “Teach Me,” went viral on Instagram, TikTok and eventually gained over 100,000 organic streams on Spotify and Apple Music, respectively, in less than a week following its official release. The singer’s follower count did a spike as well: over 180,000 new followers between both platforms in just two weeks. She also saw a big win on the charts with her first Billboard entries: no. 21 on Hot Gospel Songs and no. 2 on the Gospel Digital Song Sales.

“I just hope to encourage people through, not only my music, but just sharing the things that God has brought me through,” Lee Vasi told Elev8 last year in our Trailblazers of Christian Hip-Hop and R&B feature. “I used to think that there wasn’t another side of a valley that I had been in for some years, and God has shown me over and over again that there’s always another side worth leaning on Him to get to.”
