With a big arctic air mass pouring into the state, the temperature isn’t expected to rise above freezing until Friday.
“Anything on the ground is going to stay there because we’re not getting above freezing,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said. “The wind is blowing, that will help some, but it won’t be enough. They’re going to have to get out there and scrape that stuff.”
Forsyth County, DeKalb County and other metro areas got some flurries late Wednesday morning, but there will be no accumulation. A dusting is possible in the North Georgia mountains, Minton said. There’s no more precipitation in the forecast until early next week.
Minton said the temperature will drop into the teens Thursday morning with a wind chill around 5 degrees.
