For the parents raising young children, please remember this simple truth: we are RAISING them to RELEASE them. They have to learn. So we can’t fight all their battles and we can’t do everything for them. Raise them to be the kind of man/woman that YOU would want to marry. One that YOU would want to have as a roommate or a neighbor and one that YOU could trust with your most valued possessions whether it were your money or your grandchildren. As parents, we can’t just think about the years they spend with us and have the goal of making them as comfortable as possible. It’s more about preparing them for the years they’re away from us.
Proverbs 22:6 – Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
