On March 30, 2015 Governor Nathan Deal signed into legislation Georgia House Bill 91 which allows students that have all of their required credits to graduate high school regardless of passing the Georgia High School Exam. This makes it easier for some former high school students to get their diplomas.

Former students who failed the graduation tests are now allowed to petition for a diploma from the local school board where they were last enrolled with a state ID in hand. No longer will they have to go through a drawn-out waiver process through the state education board. This legislation could affect more than 8000 people in Georgia.
