BET is expanding programming to include new series from Gospel and spiritual figures including Karen Clark Sheard and T.D. Jakes. According to a trusted report Tuesday, the network has already begun filming a docu-reality series centered on Gospel powerhouse Karen Clark Sheard, her daughter Kierra Sheard and family. The series began filming last month and will also feature Sheard’s husband, Bishop J. Drew Sheard. Fresh off the success of “Sunday Best,” the Gospel singing competition, BET has also filmed a pilot airing of a talk show to be hosted by Bishop T.D. Jakes. Furthermore, Charlie Jordan Brookins of BET told recently Variety. “We are trying to bring spiritual themes into the fabric of our programming in general.”
