68-year-old Karen Klein rode bus number 784 through the streets of Greece, New York last week, but this was no ordinary ride. Klein found herself surrounded by four middle school boys who verbally abused her; spewing violent threats, jokes about her weight, and graphic insults regarding her family.
These KIDS (middle schoolers) taunted the bus monitor for nearly 10 minutes, videotaping all-the-while.
In honor of her courage, Max Sidorov of Toronto started an online donation campaign, which runs for 25 more days. As of now, the money amounts to $650,000. Sidorov said he wanted to raise this money to give her the opportunity to get away from her environment–a nice vacation that she can’t afford on her $15,000 a year.
