Three suspects were arrested and arraigned over the weekend in the carjacking and robbery of Pastor Marvin Winans. The attack at a Detroit gas station in the middle of the day made national headlines.

Marvin Winans returned to his 4,500-member Perfecting Church on Sunday and preached about the attack.

Montoya Givens, 20, of Detroit, 20-year-old Christopher Moorehead of Detroit and 18-year-old Brian Young of Clinton Township were all arraigned in Detroit’s 36th District Court, reports MyFoxDetroit. They face charges connected to the carjacking and robbery.

All three suspects face up to life in prison if convicted.

“I’m just saddened that it has come to this,” Winans said shortly after the attack. “This kind of nonsense just has to stop. It’s just the savageness of what’s happening in the street.”

Winans also told reporters before the service that he believes Detroit can be turned around and that he has no plans to leave the Motor City.

“The city is fixable, and it starts with the men of the city, in particular the black men,” he said. “And I … want to urge all of you men who hear me to go and get your sons. I’m not bitter. I’m not upset. I’m saddened by what has taken place. But I’m also inspired. We have to make a change in this city.”
