Gospel recording artists Mary Mary, Smokie Norful, and Donald Lawrence are among those nominated for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, taking place tonight in Los Angeles.
Mary Mary, on the strength of the hit single “God In Me,” is up for Best Gospel Song while both Smokie Norful and Donald Lawrence earned nominations based on the strength of their album’s “Smokie Norful Live” (Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album) and “The Law of Confession, Part I” (Best Traditional Gospel Album), respectively.
The trio were revealed as nominees during a special nominations ceremony in Los Angeles last month.
Vickie Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Kierra Sheard, Heather Headley, J. Moss, Mandisa, and Da’ T.R.U.T.H. also received nominations (see a list of Gospel nominees below).
The ceremony will air live on CBS.
