Days after the state of Georgia executed Troy Davis, Rev. Raphael Warnock of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church gave an impassioned sermon Sunday morning to bring attention to what he calls an injustice.

Channel 2 Action News reports that Warnock said Davis’ execution “was a moral and spiritual disaster unfolding before our very eyes.”

As we previously reported, Davis was executed Wednesday in Jackson for the 1989 murder of police officer Mark MacPhail in Savannah.

The Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals rejected several of Davis’ appeals, upholding his 1991 murder conviction.
