Camden, NJ — Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing (G.A.) will be parting ways BUT on a good note. It is being reported that as of 2010 Tye will be launching a solo career and that their New Year’s Eve concert in Washington was the last event that he would be doing with Greater Anointing. Tye apparently broke the news of his decision to his choir members at a rehearsal.

However according to Niecy Tribbett, Tye’s mother and manager said, “After being together for 13 years Tye felt it was time for change.” The change consisted of releasing group members from a heavy schedule that kept them on the road and allowing group members to pursue their own visions, from working with their own churches, pushing out their own solo projects to even pursuing their own ministries.

In the meantime, Tye will be pursuing his own solo career. However he won’t be all alone on stage. He will still have a band and back up singers, except they won’t be G.A. singers.

In 2009 Tye went through a number of personal situations but he has since bounced back and has moved forward performing and ministering both in the US and the Caribbean including Jamaica.

Always performing with a live band and is known for being theatrical in their performance with Tye doing the splits, Greater Anointing will be missed on the scene but with God directing the path of these individuals they can’t go wrong.

In the meantime, Tye will be working on a new CD slated for an early 2010 release.

Let’s continue to keep Tye, his family and Greater Anointing in prayer.
