Lasha' Knox on Testify Vol. 1 | Jekalyn Carr Family Affair
Lasha’ Knox Bares It All on “Testify Vol. 1”: Your Glory Has a Story

Some testimonies are too powerful to keep quiet. That’s exactly what gospel singer and worship pastor Lasha’ Knox proved during her recent sit-down with Jekalyn Carr on the “Family Affair” segment of Praise 102.5, Atlanta’s Inspiration Station.
If you don’t know Lasha’, let her tell it. She’s an Atlanta-born psalmist, a wife, a mother, and a self-described “Holy Ghost homegirl.” Raised in her father’s church as a PK, she’ll be the first to say she was born to do this. “It’s never a hardship,” she shared. “It’s my passion, my joy, my privilege.” And after four long years, her new album “Testify Vol. 1” is finally here, following her 2022 debut “God in Miracles.”
So why did “Testify” take so long? Because Lasha’ wasn’t ready to open up. For years, she just wanted to sing. But God kept asking her one question: “What is your story?” Eventually, she answered with raw honesty. This album walks you through the highs, the lows, and the valleys, including her transparency about being molested at an early age, going to jail, and experiencing homelessness with her children.
“You see my glory, but you don’t know the half of my story,” she said. That kind of honesty doesn’t just make music. It sets people free.
The project is packed with songs born from real life. “Blow Your Mind,” featuring Javon Dewand, reminds you that God is about to move suddenly. “Right There,” featuring the legendary Ernest Pugh, is already climbing the charts at number seven, speaking to anyone who has ever felt completely alone. “Promises” is for the season when you’re tired of waiting and learning to trust God’s timing. Then there’s “Winner,” a song she penned back in 2016 that she calls her baby. And “Surrounded”? She recorded that one in a single take while recovering from COVID. Talk about anointed.
What’s next for this rising voice? Lasha’ has big dreams, and they’re rooted in service. She’s planning a book in the spirit of “Can I Testify,” exploring fashion, and leaning deeper into ministry as assistant pastor of her family’s church. Most of all, she wants to touch the people, singing in nursing homes and reaching folks right where they are.
