W.E.B. Du Bois Documentary to Premiere on PBS

There is a new documentary on the prolific scholar and civil rights pioneer, W.E.B. Du Bois. It’s narrated by Viola Davis and features readings by Common, Courtney B. Vance, and Jeffrey Wright. The documentary also includes commentary from leading scholars and historians like, Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr.
W.E.B. Du Bois: Rebel With a Cause explores the life and legacy of this notable Black scholar and civil rights pioneer. From his birth, just five years after the Emancipation Proclamation; to his death, on the eve of the March on Washington in 1963. Clearly W.E.B. Du Bois’ legacy as an activist continues to resonate today. Especially during these current challenging times, I think it’s important to lock in on our history so we can reach our divinely appointed destiny. W.E.B. Du Bois: Rebel With a Cause will premiere Tuesday, May 19th at 9 p.m. ET on PBS. For more information click here.
