The mission of Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta (CCMA) is to advocate, formulate, mandate and coordinate resources that empower and improve the quality of life for individuals and communities. The CCMA supports, promotes and sponsors services that improve the quality of life for others. The CCMA devises, prepares, plans and communicates programs that help others to live better lives. The CCMA Board of Directors orders, directs, and authorizes free services and resources that empower and improve the quality of life of others. The CCMA organizes, manages, and brings together services and resources that improve the quality of life for others.

The target audience served by the CCMA is at-risk children/youth and young black males. Its signature program – the Priority Male Initiative – focuses on at-risk young black males, 18-28 years of age, included 29 workshops; a structured life-skills and job readiness program; and the “Man-2-Man Mentoring Program”. The CCMA also sponsored two public forums, “The Black Male Crisis: A Call to Action”, the “Live B4U Die” forum for teenagers and youth, and the PROPEL Conference for males of all ages, and “Soar to Healthy Heights, a free children’s health fair.

Since its inception in April 2008, the CCMA has coordinated and sponsored twenty-six free programs that have helped to fulfill its mission, with no federal, public, or foundation funding. Over nine hundred (900) persons have been served by the CCMA.
