“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5

This weekend we remember the sacrifice that our Lord made on our behalf.  He suffered a great deal and died a death that we deserved to die, not Him.  But Praise be to God! He was raised from the dead with victory over Satan, sin, death, hell , and the grave. Because of His selflessness, we can walk in victory! We can be forgiven of our sins and spend eternity with Him!  We are also free from the bondage of sin and God is transforming us into the image of Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit. We have His peace. We have healing. We can experience His joy. How do we live our lives in light of this?

Paul says in Romans 12:1, ” Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”  A life of worship to Him is the least we can do.  That means putting our wills aside to do God’s will; what pleases Him.  Jesus did the will of the Father so that we could be saved.  He gave His life and we are expected to die to ourselves daily to live the life He created us to live in Him.

What does your life look like?  It is a life of obedience to God; a life of gratefulness. No, we won’t always get it right.  God is looking for those who are willing.  Are you?

In Matthew 5:16, Jesus says, “…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Let it shine! This world needs Him.

He is worthy of all of our worship!

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

2 Corinthians 5:21

Happy Resurrection Weekend!
