Frederick Douglass, an abolitionist and author, born into slavery sometime around 1818 in Maryland, became one of the most famous intellectuals of his time, advising presidents and lecturing to thousands on a range of causes, including women’s rights.  He is quoted as saying,

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

Proverbs 22:6 tells us to, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Let’s train our children in the ways of God and expect great things from them.
