Singer/songwriter Kelly Price is under fire today for singing the very popular song “As We Lay” at the Indiana Black Expo Gospel Showcase. Price is trending on Twitter after a flood of memes and videos were posted from followers and attendees.
The former R&B Diva has taken to her social media to express her anger saying the host of the event approached her after her performance stating that the song was very “inappropriate” to sing at a gospel event as it recounts infidelity between a married man and his mistress.
Price disagreed with the host and in her video statement, she says that this type of “bigotry” is the reason why people don’t go to church.
