After spending a significant amount of time as Pastor of Worship at Houston’s Lighthouse Church, Earnest Pugh has decided to leave the position behind to follow another one of his passions.

“Pastor Keion Henderson and I mutually agreed that seasons have changed,” he said. “I am moving on to pursue some dreams that have laid dormant in my heart for years. Our joint efforts of laboring in the vineyard at Lighthouse have been fruitful and we believe God’s best is yet to come for all involved parties. To God be the glory for the wonderful things He has done, is doing and will do to advance the Kingdom through our lives and ministries.”

On November 21, 2016, Pugh will kick off the launch of a non-profit organization called Vets Rock in Washington, D.C. with an “Oh Give Thanks” concert, 250 Thanksgiving dinner giveaways to veterans families and his 50th birthday gala. As an active-duty Army soldier for 15 years, Pugh has a soft spot for vets. Women, especially.

“Women are the most under served population of U.S. veterans,” he said. “These women have served and have great needs. The objective is to be a rock and stone of help to veterans who have served their country and now need to be served themselves.”

His passion for this initiative in particular was birthed after meeting a female vet who lived in a Houston shelter.

Eager to make a global impact in the coming months, Pugh is set to headline a 50-city tour to celebrate his 50 years of life and 20 years in the gospel music industry. He’s also working on hosting a radio show and becoming a music business professor.
