Atlanta got shut down on Friday afternoon because inclement weather was imminent. Mayor Kasim Reed urged companies to allow their employees to go home early and warned people to stay off the roads.

Essentially nothing happened. Most people KNEW nothing was going to happen because the temperatures wouldn’t remain below freezing long enough for anything to happen. But don’t get it twisted. The call to shut down the city had nothing to do with the weather this year. It had all to do with the weather in 2014 when thousands were stranded along Ga. roads because the roads had frozen over.

Here’s the message:

Sometimes our actions are more based off of what happenED as opposed to what’s happenING. It would be wise to analyze your current actions and see if they are appropriate for where you are now or if you’re being a victim to something that happened to you in a previous time in your life. It’s wise to be safe, but don’t miss out on something amazing today because you’re viewing it through yesterday’s lens.
