Confederate Flags Found at Ebenezer Baptist Church & MLK Visitor Center

Georgia, Andersonville, The Confederate battle flag is still proudly flown in downtown, despite the town's notorious civil war history it still insists on calling itself a Civil War village.

Four Confederate flags were discovered at Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site Visitor Center this morning. The flags were apparently placed there overnight.

According to the AJC, a maintenance man saw the flags around 6 a.m. and alerted a U.S. Park Ranger, who called Atlanta police. Homeland Security was also called to investigate. The flags were reportedly placed below a poster that reads “BLACK LIVES MATTER, HANDS UP,” by a garbage can, on the path to the MLK Visitor Center, and on a corner near the historic church.

There are security cameras at Ebenezer but it’s not clear if the cameras captured any footage of anyone placing the flags.
