An arrest has been made in the May home invasion murder of Jerrick Jackson, the younger brother of Gospel Tabernacle Cathedral’s Bishop Wiley Jackson. Jerrick Jackson, 47, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of May 7 as he tried to fight off a group of armed robbers trying to force their way into his northwest Atlanta home.

The armed men approached Jackson and his fiancée around 1 a.m. Atlanta police said Jackson was trying to protect his daughter, who was upstairs at the time.

Today (August 1), Atlanta police arrested Alejandro “Big Poppa” Pitts, 18, of Atlanta, on charges of murder and armed robbery. Atlanta police told the AJC that more arrests are forthcoming as the investigation continues.
