Data Shows Black Migration Reversing Historic Trend
Black Americans have longed moved with the tide of the times, migrating from the rural South to northern cities and to the West in search of new opportunities and the American dream.
Since 2000, the trend has continued but in reverse. As it appears, African Americans have moved back to the South in search of the better life.
The Atlanta Post highlights this trend with a report of the top 5 cities to lose and increase their black populations.
As was touted in the media as of late, the past decade saw a reverse migration on the part of African-Americans who looked to the South for stability and promise, with the exception of New Orleans which obviously lost many black residents because of the long-felt effects of Hurricane Katrina.
