A mother in Tampa, Florida is facing criticism after making her son stand on a street corner  holding a sign to punish him for poor grades.

Ronda Holder tells Fox 13 News in Tampa Bay that she became increasingly frustrated by her 15-year-old son’s bad grades, and when his GPA dipped to 1.222 it was the last straw for her.

Standing on a Tampa Bay street corner, the boy has a handwritten sign hanging around his neck that says:

My name is James W. Mond III. I did 4 questions on my F-CAT and said I wasn’t going to do it! GPA 1.222. Honk if I need and [sic] education.

His mother reportedly said she’s hoping humiliation will finally get the message through to her son, saying, “Until he straightens up his grades and gets his education on track, he’s going to work this corner.”

What do you think of Ronda Holder’s parenting methods? Did she go too far or do you consider this tough love? Leave your comments below!
