DeKalb commissioners vote to limit late-night alcohol sales

Late night partying might be cut short in DeKalb county.  Starting Jan. 1 bars are prohibited from serving alcohol after 2 am from Sunday-Thursday.  The cut off time is 230 am Thursday-Saturday.  Community associations pushed DeKalb commissioners for those changes saying that it will cut back on crime, noise and D.U.I.’s.

There was a huge upset in Alabama.  Democrat Doug Jones beat Republican Roy Moore yesterday in the senate race.  It’s been about 25 years since Alabama has elected a Democrat.  Doug Jones beat the controversial candidate Roy Moore although Moore got the support of President Donald Trump.  Analyst credit black women voters for the Jones victory, 98% of registered black women voters supported him.

If you are shipping gifts and cards for the holiday check the calendar.  Dec. 19 is the last day for domestic first class service, Priority mail is Dec. 20, Priority mail express is Dec. 22 but keep in mind standard post needs to be in the mail by tomorrow (Dec.14) to make it in time for Christmas.
