Baby AJ will receive kidney transplant from deceased donor

There is good news for Baby AJ, AJ Burgess’ is the 2-year-old Atlanta toddler who was born without kidneys.  His family has been fighting for months to have a kidney transplant from his father who is a perfect match, but was block by Emory University because he was arrested for probation violation.  Since then, donations have poured in and now Baby AJ is finally getting a donation from an unknown deceased donor.  There is also more good news for the family, movie mogul Tyler Perry gifted the mother Carmellia Burgess a new car to help take the baby back and forth from his medical appointment.

City council President Ceasar Mitchell surprised many and endorsed Mary Norwood for the mayor’s race.  That upset current Mayor Kasim Reed and he called them both “losers”.

“Ceasar Mitchell supporting Mary Norwood is one man, one woman, two losers” – Kasim Reed

As for the response, Mary Norwood called Kasim Reed a bully.  Ceasar Mitchell said Mayor Kasim Reed can meet him at Westside Park.  Mitchell expects some criticism for endorsing Mary Norwood because if she wins she will be the first white mayor in Atlanta in 40 years.

The run-off election for the Atlanta Mayor race is December 5.




Gas prices are the highest for this Thanksgiving holiday

If you are hitting the road this holiday weekend it won’t be cheap.  Gas prices are the highest for the Thanksgiving holiday in three years.  Still if you look at the pumps prices are falling since Hurricane Harvey shut down supply earlier this year.  According to the consumer information app GasBuddy, gas prices have fallen 3 cents since last week.  The average price is about $2.39.


Beware of fake shopping apps

Watch out for fake shopping apps if you plan on shopping on Black Friday.  Some apps are administered by hackers to steal your credit card information.  Shopping apps are available in the Apple Store and Google Play Store.  Fake apps have posed as legitimate retailers for luxury brands like Moncler, Celine, and Salvatore Ferragamo, according to the NY Post. The most popular shopping apps include Flipp, Shop Savvy, Shopular and RetailMeNot.
