Fred ”Uncle Freddie” Jerkins III, President of DarkChild Gospel, has announced, A Project of Healing, the first of a series of gospel and mainstream compilation albums that will benefit cancer awareness, empowerment and education. Along with his brother, producer Rodney Jerkins, he’s produced music for many gospel and secular artists.
This album will feature guests including Bishop Paul S. Morton, Lowell Pye, Darlene McCoy , Alexis Spight, Jonathan Nelson, Trin-I-Tee 5:7 and more.
The first single titled “We Won” featuring Jonathan Nelson is currently at radio and available on all digital media outlets. A stage play inspired by the project is currently being written and directed by Kim Fields.
This project will be available this October 2017.
“I’m very excited about the different projects we have going on from Jermaine Dolly to the cancer awareness project which is close to my heart. With the favor of God, I expect great things with all that we do,” Freddie Jerkins says.
Uncle Freddie has also confirmed a joint business venture with label By Any Means Necessary (founded by Jerome Hunt). Since the confirmed partnership, DarkChild Gospel and By Any Means Necessary have found success with rising star Jermaine Dolly.
Dolly’s debut effort, The Dolly Express, debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart. Dolly’s first single “You ,” also known as “JESUS, JESUS, JESUS,” peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Gospel Radio charts, while his current single “Come And Knock On Our Door” has reached #9. Dolly’s video for “You”, has been viewed more than 2 million times on YouTube.
Following the success of the #1 Gospel album in the country, and after doing it independently, Uncle Freddie is creating a platform to assist independent artists and aspiring writers/producers trying to get connected in the gospel industry.
Fred is rolling out a seminar called “Fred Jerkins Music, Business and Money ” (a rework of his internationally successful seminar “Fred Jerkins One 2 One” which is designed for artists, writers and producers as well as individuals looking to start a business or needing help taking their business to another level.
