Love gives. Lust takes. Love is selfLESS. Lust is selfISH. Love is patient. Lust can NOT wait. This is a simple formula you should ask yourself if you’re ever trying to determine what you’re really dealing with. Don’t be afraid to call it what it is. Build your relationship on a foundation of truth. It’s the only way it will last anyway. I’d rather have a condo that was built with love than a house of cards mansion that lust built.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
