French Toast Casserole with Praline-Brandy Sauce

Ingredients
  1. 2 (8-ounce) day-old demi baguettes,
  2. cut into ½-inch-thick slices
  3. 6 large eggs
  4. 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar, divided
  5. 2½ cups whole milk
  6. ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  7. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  8. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  9. ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  10. ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  11. Praline-Brandy Sauce (recipe follows)
  12. Garnish: strawberries
