What do you do when the people you desire respect from don’t give it to you? It’s pretty simple actually. Excel in the area that they respect. For example, a guy may want to be respected for his kind heart and gentlemanly ways, but the person he seeks respect from has more regard for a high beacon score and job security. If you want THAT person’s respect then you have to excel in an area that THEY respect. We can typically get the respect we require, but we have to use wisdom, be grown and be honest with ourselves about who we really need it from and whether or not we are willing to do what it takes to get it.
