The way we interpret life is filtered through the lens of our own experience. This is how two people can see the same situation and one is convinced of the problem while the other is convinced of the possibility. The issue most often lies not in what we see, but in the dirty lens we are using to see it. Just like a pair of reading glasses, sometimes you don’t even know they’re dirty because you’ve become so accustomed to seeing through them. It really does help to allow someone qualified, to ‘look through your glasses’ to help normalize your perspectives.
Proverbs 11:14 – Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
