BRYAN POPIN’s “Such A Time As This” wins “Hit Of The Week” and beats out NBC The Voice’s Jordan Smith on Radio One’s syndicated hit show, The Willie Moore Jr. Show:
Bryan Popin’s “Such A Time As This” was up against Jordan Smith’s “Every Prayer” this week on The Willie Moore Jr. Show’s Holy Grounds contest. Holy Grounds is a contest featured by the WMJ show where 2 of today’s hottest gospel music stars go head to head and give the power to the people by an online vote via social media. Smith won NBC’s The Voice back in 2015 and has quite a large following from the show. He even was able to knock Adele out of the top spot on iTunes. With one of the highest vote counts yet on Holy Grounds, over 10k votes, Popin seemed to push forward taking the lead votes for his single, “Such A Time As This!”
“I’m so thankful for anyone to even take the time to vote and listen to the music,” says Popin. “It’s an honor and humbling to do what I love and impact people’s lives, giving them hope when maybe they had given up on hope. We all get frustrated with life. I promised God that if He would let me keep doing music, that I would be real, transparent and honest not just with the music, but with my heart and testimony, to help people through the process. I’m thankful for my family at The Willie Moore Jr. Show and the platform given, but know that somehow God must of let me sneak under the radar with Jordan Smith and his camp. He’s a great guy with a great heart and def has a killer voice! Either way, I’m down with what God is doing with me right now in this season, SUCH A TIME AS THIS!”
Popin is currently traveling to multiple cities this summer for both live events and radio promotion as he continues to climb the gospel radio charts. With a full project slated to be released early Fall on his new imprint joint venture label between Little Boy Wonder Music and Flaydo Music, it seems inevitable that Popin’s best musical work is in his near future as he collaborates with hit maker AyRon Lewis (Kirk Franklin, James Fortune, Bishop Morton Jr.).
