Are we doing things to please God or Man?
When doing anything, I’m learning to ask myself, “Why am I doing this and for who?” Is it to please or impress men or God? Proverbs 21:2 says, “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.” God looks at our hearts and our motives behind what we do. Jesus says in Matthew chapter 6 that those who do things for others to see them will not receive a reward from God. When we do things in secret and not for others to see, our God, who sees in secret, will reward us. So, lets do a self check and ask ourselves before we do something, “Why am I doing this and for who?” Let’s make sure we seek to please God in all things and bring glory to His name. The reward from God is greater and lasting.
