You are here now, in this state of mind, at this stage of success or failure, because of your thoughts. Previous thoughts shape your present life while current thoughts will shape your future. If life has been a challenge, chances are your mind is plagued by negative or toxic thoughts which can be contributed to the spirit of poverty. The spirit of poverty is a stronghold established to keep you from walking in the fullness of victory. Believe it or not these thoughts carry over into every aspect of your life leaving little room for dreams to grow and causing huge financial gaps. Toxic thoughts create the right environment for doubt, fear and complacency to set in.
Have you become stagnant waiting for things outside of yourself to move you from where you want to be instead of moving yourself? Its hard to move when thoughts keep you bound by your past mistakes. This type of bondage is what I like to call Poverty Mindset.
Do you feel inferior to others? If you do then you will not feel deserving. If you don’t feel deserving, your life is based on desperation and lack, rather than joy and abundance. If you feel abundant, you will have abundance. If you feel desperate and lacking, you will expand the poverty in your life.
If you’ve answered yes to either of the questions above, congratulations…you’re human! There is no right or wrong answer just clarification of how powerful our thoughts can be. The good news is that a Poverty Mindset can be broken.
Here are 5 Steps to Overcome your Poverty Mindset:
Believe that you have the power to change your thoughts
By simply reminding yourself who you are rather than who you are not lays the foundation to shift your thought life.
Make the decision of whether you are a victor or a victim
You must decide if life is happening to you or if you are happening to life. You must carry yourself like a winner in order to win.
Stop doing the same things expecting different results.
If it’s not working for you now stop doing it. even if it used to work, but hasn’t lately it’s time to shift.
Create goals that give life.
Goals should drive you to push yourself beyond limits and excite you to do so.
Create a plan of action to navigate your journey.
If you don’t write the vision and make it plain you have nothing to follow.
Ultimately to break the Poverty Mindset you have to make different choices and unblock the shackles that have been placed on our minds by old traditions and the influences that abound.
