My mom was full of wisdom. She used to say, ‘Son, don’t cut of your arm because your finger is bleeding’. What she meant was, sometimes we have knee jerk reactions to problems, but in reality our quick reactions cause more problems. It’s like trying to kill a fly with a hammer. Learn the difference between a RESPONSE and a REACTION. Whether you are thinking of quitting a job, starting a job that you KNOW isn’t the will of God, or even if you are contemplating divorce. Don’t react. Respond by seeking the voice of God or even seek counseling from someone you know has sound wisdom. Most reactions end up with you saying, ‘I could have done or said that MUCH better than that’. Don’t be the person that burnt an unnecessary bridge because you didn’t choose to RESPOND as opposed to REACT.
