MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell asked if GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain regretted “sitting on the sidelines during the civil rights movement,” on his show last week.

Cain rejected the notion and later would call the questions “absurd.”

Cain also said during the interview that he did not participate in the civil rights movement because he was in high school, but O’Donnell correctly pointed out that Cain was a student at Morehouse College from 1963-1967 in the middle of the civil rights movement.

There was also an active civil rights movement in the Atlanta University Center that included students conducting sit-ins at Rich’s downtown, but Cain did not participate.
