Option 2 Change assists single parent households through out Metro Atlanta. We are able to restore the balance of family and community through our educational programs. We have helped single parents accomplish and build dreams and then it translates into the children and their friends. Before you know it you have impacted a whole neighborhood. This lowers the crime rate and increases testing scores in schools, lowers the number of single parents in poverty, and decreases the drug epidemic in youth. Each one of our programs helps single fathers and mothers to sustain their household.
Option 2 Change has managed in the last year to assist over 456 homeless individuals, 356 single parents and over 1424 children on a small budget utilizing community partnerships. We have managed to partner with the Douglas County Board of Education and Juvenile Justice Courts within a year of opening. Also we had the first health fair in Douglas County that served over 115 people with actual services. We served all over metro Atlanta and with our services.
Option 2 Change would like to increase our resources so that our waiting list will no longer exist. To build the first green shelter in Metro Atlanta that not only teaches all of our programs, but that pushes heavily on education in the areas of math, science, and language.
