We are born dependent. We then graduate to independence. The ultimate goal is INTERDEPENDENCE. This requires maturity. It’s moving from ‘I need you to do it for me’ to ‘I can do it myself’ to ‘I can do it for others’. Marriages fail when two independent people never graduate to the next stage of interdependence. It’s when personal success is not as important as team success.
