Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes and Bernard Hopkins were among the nearly 3,000 mourners who came to pay  their respects to the late Joe Frazier at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church on Monday in Philadelphia.

Frazier, an an Olympic gold medalist, and former heavyweight champion of the world, died Nov. 7 from liver cancer. Frazier was 67.

Ali did not speak during the two-hour plus memorial inside the cavernous church, but the Rev. Jesse Jackson was one of several pastors who spoke about Frazier’s greatness as a human being and a boxing champion.

“Joe Frazier came from segregation, degradation and disgrace to amazing grace,” Jackson said. “In this case, for 67 years, genius was just hard work dressed up in work clothes. Joe Frazier was an ordinary Joe who came from extraordinary depths who rose to extraordinary heights.”
