Alicia Keys is producing a new Broadway play called “Stick Fly,” as well as composing its music, and she’s just revealed details of its story line. With writer Lydia R. Diamond and award-winning Atlanta-based director Kenny Leon, the three explain why it’s a show everyone should see!

The play “follows the LeVays, an affluent African American family who come together to spend a summer weekend at their Martha’s Vineyard home. The adult sons, aspiring novelist Kent and golden boy plastic surgeon Flip, have each brought their respective ladies (one Black and one White) to meet the parents. Food, drink and Trivial Pursuit tangle with class, race and identity politics in this contemporary comedy of manners.”

Alicia says:

“It’s about the human experience, so it doesn’t matter how you look, where you’re from, where you grew up, life is hilarious, life is serious, life is outrageous. And that’s what this play is. I think it’s something that people will really resonate with. Can’t wait for you to see it, it’s gonna blow your mind, you’re gonna be all about it.”

Will you be seeing it?
