The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin is set to undergo a medical procedure today that sparked a prayer vigil in her hometown of Detroit.
Franklin was not at the vigil, but she released the following statement:
“Thanks to the Detroit City Council for their prayer vigil. And, many thanks to the City for their support.
All prayers are good!”
Last month, the 68-year-old singer announced she was canceling all concert dates and personal appearances through May on the orders of her doctors.
Franklin’s rep Tracey Jordan is keeping mum on what, exactly, the procedure will entail.
