From the AJC.com:

A Hall County couple were among the 130 people who survived a plane crash in the Caribbean.

The couple, Carolina and David Bellino of Flowery Branch, were on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Tuesday.

“I have a fracture in my back and I cannot move,” Carolina said, “and my husband has a fracture in the same exact place, he is worse than mine, and I’m pregnant — I’m seven weeks or eight weeks pregnant — but the baby’s fine. … It feels like a nightmare but I’m thankful because I’m alive.

“It’s amazing that all these people … they’re all alive. … I’m thankful to God and this is a miracle, really; Jesus Christ was with us … this is a new beginning for us,” she said.

One person was killed and six seriously injured as the plane, carrying 131 people, attempted to land on San Andres island, off the coast of Colombia. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Carolina Bellino, who is from Colombia, told Channel 2 Action News that her husband pulled her to safety after the crash. “What I remember is my husband pulling me through the exit door,” she said.

Hours after the crash, Carolina called a friend from her Flowery Branch church and left a phone message:

“Miss Cynthia, this is Carolina Bellino. Can you send some prayers from the church? Our plane crashed at 1:45 p.m. I’m fine, but you know, I’m pregnant so they’ve got to be careful with me.”

“I truly was speechless … beyond words … ,” Cynthia Herndon, who received the voice message, told Channel 2. “Just to hear the panic in her voice and knowing the distress she had just gone through.”

Authorities said the woman who died suffered a heart attack.
